• 2012년 12월 16~18일 교수님께서 General Chair를 맡으신 학회인 RiTA 2012가 광주 김대중컨벤션센터에서 성공적으로 마쳤습니다. 우리 랩에서 이동현 박사과정이 Best Paper Award를 받았습니다. RiTA 2012

• 2012년 11월 1일과 2일, OPEN KAIST에서 Open Labs을 하였습니다.

• 교수님께서 2012년 8월에 Guido Herrmann 교수 등과 함께 Springer 출판사의 Lecture Notes in Artificial Notes로 Advances in Autonomous Robotics (LNAI 7429)를 출판하셨습니다.

• 교수님 100번째 국제초청강연 (이 중 42회 국제학회 기조강연): 교수님께서 2012년 6월 10-15일 호주 Brisbane에서 열린 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence에 Tutorial 강연을 하셨습니다. Tutorial 제목은 Multiobjective Quantum-inspired Evolutionary Algorithm and Preference-based Solution Selection Algorithm (MQEA and PSSA)입니다.

• 교수님께서 General Chair를 맡으신 학회인 RiTA 2012가 12월에 광주에서 개최됩니다.

• 교수님께서 2012년 4월 17일에 2012여수세계박람회 성공적 준비에 기여한 공으로 "조직위원장 표창장"을 수상하셨습니다.

• 교수님께서 2012년 1월 16일 UAE의 Khalifa 대학에서 IT for RTT에 대해 초청 강연과 A heterogeneous multi-agent framework for intelligent reconnaissance in an unstructured environment 관련 과제 협의를 하신 후, 1월 18일 덴마크의 IT University of Copenhagen에서 초청 강연과 Serious Game 관련 공동연구 과제 협의를 하시고 귀국하셨습니다.
• 이 ITU 대학에 우리 랩에서 한지형과 고우리 박사과정이 BK21 사업단의 지원을 받아 1/14-1/27 연수를 다녀왔고, 연수 기간 동안 연구논문 발표 및 우리 랩에서 개발한 MQEA 강연을 하였으며 Serious Game 및 Story Telling 기반 공동연구를 위한 준비 회의를 하고 왔습니다.

• 교수님께서 2011년 12월 7일 뉴질랜드 웰링턴에서 열린 International Conference on Automation, Robotics and Application (ICARA)에서 The Degree of Consideration-based Mechanism of Thought for Robots That Think (DoC-MoT for RTT)라는 제목으로 keynote speech를 하셨습니다. 이 기조 강연에 대한 논문은 IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine 2012년 2월호에 게재되었습니다.

• 교수님께서 2011년 12월 6일자로 로봇산업 유공자로 "지식경제부 장관상"을 수상하셨습니다.

• 교수님께서 2011년 11월 22일 인도네시아 발리에서 열린 IEEE TENCON에서 Recent Progress and Development of Computational Intelligence for "Robots That Think"라는 제목으로 Keynote speech를 하셨습니다. 자세한 내용은 홈페이지의 Professor -> Invited Talks 메뉴를 참고 바랍니다.

• 교수님께서 2011년 9월 1일자로 “KT석좌교수”로 임용되셨습니다. 참고로 교수님께서는 2009년 1월부터 전자공학자들의 최고 영예인 IEEE Fellow로 선임되셨습니다.
